The Eurasian Jay
A week ago, the beautifully painted and carved jay arrived and was immediately given pride of place on my windowsill. However, it turned out that this figure had completely unexpected effects. Four hours after its arrival, my wife excitedly pointed towards our flowering lilac bushes—and there was a live jay in the process of cutting off a branch for its nest. Despite living in our house for more than forty years, we have never before seen a jay in our garden. We are simply amazed and cannot explain the connection.
