What size lunch box do you need?

A compact box slips easily into your bag, while multiple compartments keep fruit, bread, and sides separate. Check the internal dimensions if it needs to hold whole pieces of fruit or small containers. A rigid cooler protects its contents differently from a soft cooler bag, but both need space for ice packs. Also check the external dimensions if the lunch box needs to fit in a specific bag, and consider its weight when full.

Is the lunch box leakproof, and what can it be used for?

Stainless steel is durable and does not normally stain in the same way as many types of plastic, but the steel itself does not make the box leakproof. The lid, seal, and closure determine whether it can hold dressing or other liquids. The box should only be used for hot meals, in the freezer, or for reheating when expressly permitted by the manufacturer.

Is the lunch box dishwasher-safe?

Check whether all parts are dishwasher-safe, and remove the seals as instructed so that no residue remains trapped. Allow the parts to dry completely before reassembling the lunch box.
