The hawfinch is one of the largest finches and measures 18 cm as an adult - this wooden model measures 16 cm from the tip of its beak to the tip of its tail. In Denmark, the bird is a common breeding species.

The wooden bird is part of Swedish Wildlife Garden's series of decorative birds, which consists of a selection of the most popular birds. The series is continually expanding, with new lifelike bird species being added.
