Bats have lost many opportunities to find shelter in recent years, as there are fewer old trees and fewer cavities in houses and roofs. This puts further pressure on the population of this fascinating—and protected—animal.

With a bat box, you can help the population by giving bats a safe place to sleep.

The box is made of solid, slow-growing wood with a naturally long lifespan. Screws are also used instead of nails, ensuring that it stays securely together.

The wood is untreated, and painting or otherwise treating it is not recommended, as bats have a very sensitive sense of smell.

Ideally mounted 2.5–5 metres above the ground, preferably in a location that receives little sunlight during the day—facing north, southwest or southeast.

Please note that it is handmade in England and may therefore be cut slightly unevenly. Knots and small cracks may occur, as it is a 100% natural material.
