Wildlife Garden birdhouse/bird feeder - New England

This cottage from Swedish Wildlife Garden is both a birdhouse and a bird feeder, and can easily be converted at the end of the season. In spring, it provides a safe place for nesting birds. In autumn, it can easily be converted into a bird feeder.

As a birdhouse, this cottage is suitable for sparrows and tits. It was developed in collaboration with ornithologists and features essential details such as climbing grooves leading up to the entrance hole – vital for the small chicks when they venture out to test their wings.

When feeding birds, it is important that they cannot sit in the food. Diseases spread easily on open bird tables. In this cottage, the feed is protected from dirt, rain and snow, and the birds perch on rods while eating. The rods can also be pushed inwards so that only small birds can perch on them.
