Hercules owl box with round opening

Solid-quality owl box made of solid oak from Danish brand Hercules.

The owl box has a round entrance hole with a diameter of 16 cm. It is specially designed for owls, and the shape of the entrance means that falcons will not normally choose to use the nesting box.

Putting up owl boxes greatly benefits the Danish owl population. Owls naturally nest in old trees, but there are often not enough suitable trees. It can therefore be a great help to owls if a nesting box is put up that can be used both during the breeding season and as shelter in winter.

The owl box should be positioned high up and should ideally face away from the direction the wind most often comes from, as birds can easily become cold if there is too much draught. It is also important that there are no branches immediately around the entrance.

Please note that small cracks are to be expected, as this is a natural material.

Also available with a larger entrance suitable for both owls and falcons
