Wildlife Garden cast iron bird - owl

Owl made of solid cast iron by Swedish Wildlife Garden.

The bird is very lifelike and made using an old technique called mould casting, where molten iron is poured into a mould that can only be used once. This uniquely means that the entire bird – including the legs and feet – is made from a single piece of cast iron without any joints.

The cast iron has been given a black surface treatment that may rub off slightly at first – we therefore recommend using felt pads. 

It can also be placed outdoors, where it will develop a rusty patina over time.
