House sparrow chick crafted from solid cast iron by Swedish Wildlife Garden.
The bird is highly lifelike and made using an old technique called mould casting, where molten iron is poured into a mould that can only be used once. This uniquely means that the entire bird is made from a single piece of cast iron without joints.
The cast iron has a black surface treatment that may initially rub off slightly – we therefore recommend using felt pads.
It can also be placed outdoors, where it will develop a rusty patina over time.
