In nature, owls breed in holes in old trees, but since there are often no old, suitable trees in many forests, it may be a good idea to set up an owl box. In the places where this has been done, you can see that the owl population is growing. Night owls in particular like to move into set up owl own nest boxes .

The owl box is placed high up and should ideally face away from the typical wind direction. It is also important that there are no branches in the immediate vicinity of the approach hole.

Note that small cracks are to be expected. The pictures show a slightly older model that was put together with nails, the new ones are with screws for increased durability.
