Large flag woodpecker skilfully hand-carved from linden wood and subsequently hand-painted with environmentally friendly colours. The wooden figure is mounted on a piece, also hand-cut, branch/tree stump. Legs and feet are made of thick steel wire covered with string.

In nature, the large flag set is about 23 cm long, and so is this version, i.e. it is a 1:1 representation. A really nice piece of craftsmanship suitable both for bird enthusiasts and as decoration, but also for teaching purposes.

This is a male bird which can be recognized by the red spot on the neck.

The great flag woodpecker is the most common woodpecker in Denmark.
