Wildlife World predator secured nest box
This nest box has been specially designed to be extra secure against predators such as cats, rats and woodpeckers.
The birdhouse was designed by English Wildlife World in collaboration with the well-known English nature photographer Simon King.
It is made of extra solid FSC-marked wood, and is extra high so that predators cannot reach down to the eggs/young. At the same time, there is a metal ring around the entrance so that, for example, woodpeckers cannot easily widen the opening.
A plastic plate with pre-drilled holes for easy hanging is mounted on the back. If you want to clean the housing, take it down, after which a screw can be loosened so that the plastic plate can be swung to the side. Behind the plastic plate is a hole that enables emptying - see the last pictures.
The hole size is suitable for voles and many other small garden birds.
