Wildlife Garden beehive - yellow
A beehive can help increase the number of solitary bees in the garden. They are called solitary bees because, unlike honey bees and bumblebees, they do not live in colonies, but rather alone in small cavities.
The solitary bees, which look a lot like honey bees, are incredibly useful in the garden and are, among other things, helping to pollinate fruit bushes and trees.
This beehive is made with bamboo tubes that are specially selected because they are just the right size for these bees. There is also a roof overhang that protects the pipes from rain.
The bees use the house both to store pollen and to lay eggs. When the female has laid eggs, she seals the entrance.
